Bachelor Of Technology Management (Furniture Design and Manufacturing) with Honors will produce professional management student who have a strong knowledge in furniture design and manufacturing to meet the needs of furniture industry in tandem with the increase of furniture exports. This program is based on a number of requirements for market employment in the area of management, design and manufacturing of the furniture industry, and current trends in related fields. The disparity offered at UTHM for this furniture design and manufacturing program is that it leads to three elements namely management, design and furniture manufacturing.
This programme consists of 124 credits to be completed within eight (8) semesters. Assessment of students performance is based on formative and summative evaluation conducted throughout each semester. The eight semester is used for industrial training

YEAR 1 (SEMESTER 1 & 2)
Principles Of Management, Technology Management, Principles of Marketing, Economics, History of Furniture Design and Ergonomic and Anthropometric
YEAR 2 (SEMESTER 3 & 4)
Business Law, 2D Computer Aided Design, Human Resources Management, 3D Computer Aided Design, Wood and Non Wood, Occupational Safety and Health Management, Entreprenuership, Furniture Design 1.
YEAR 3 (SEMESTER 5 & 6)
Production and Operation Management, Research Methodology, Operational Research, Alternative Material Technology, Furniture Manufacturing and Process, Furniture Design 2, Furniture Testing, Final Year Project I, , Industrial Engineering, Industrial Production Costing, Furniture Packaging and Finishing and Production Planning And Control.
YEAR 4 (SEMESTER 7)
Industrial Psychology, Final Year Project II, Project Management, Supply Chain Management , Commercialization and Innovation Management.
YEAR 4 (SEMESTER 8)
Students have the opportunity to gain exposure in the industry and "hands-on" training in the real environment at Teaching Factory developed for furniture production. Collaboration with the local furniture industry allows students to learn the real situation of the furniture production and design that is needed in the current market. This will provide advantages to students in engaging with diverse educational learning experiences and broaden their network interaction.
