  • Background

Dr Hamidun was graduated from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia for his Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering and Master of Engineering (Construction). Then he was awarded Doctor of Engineering (Structural) from Kyushu University, Japan. His research is based on the structural analysis of corroded reinforced concrete structures. By using the numerical analysis, the structural performance and the service life prediction of corroded structures were highlighted in his research. His current concern is on the use of waste material available in Malaysia which can contribute to the lightweight concrete. Furthermore, he is also investigating the diffusion coefficient in Malaysia environment which give the strong influence to the corrosion phenomenon. Hence, the structural performance of lightweight concrete in corroded environment is expected to be investigated.
